A 50-year-old female patient comes to the practice with terminal mobility of her 22, requiring avulsion in the very short term.
The patient also presents a problem of occlusal stability and a major loss of masticatory potential, with the maxilla in class II left and the mandible in class II right.
We also note a slight mobility of 23 due to an old bridge, aggravating the occlusal overload confirmed by the vestibuloversion of 12: we decide to separate the bridge by removing pontics 14-15.
The treatment will be comprehensive: an initial provisional phase with resin prostheses to stabilize the occlusion and allow the healing process to proceed smoothly.
Two provisional resin prostheses will be fabricated from digital impressions using an intraoral scanner.
Virtual extractions of the 22 and pontic of bridges 14 and 15 will be performed in Intuitive Design software when modelling the provisional appliances.
We fit the appliance immediately after extraction: the functional and aesthetic adaptation will put the patient in good psychophysiological conditions for the rest of the treatment.
